The Polymer Group of the URV was formed at the beginning of the 80s at the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Chemistry of Tarragona, integrated at that time in the Barcelona University. Nowadays, the Group is integrated in the Department of Analytical and Organic Chemistry of the Rovira i Virgili University.
Our research is focused to the synthesis and characterization of polymers with specific properties for certain applications. Our Group has a wide experience in this field in which it has developed a great number of projects and it has made large contributions in the last years.
The members of our group teach Organic Chemistry, Organic Synthesis, Natural Products Chemistry, Structural Organic Determination, Polymer Chemistry and Materials Science to the undergraduate students of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Agricultural Engineering and Technical Engineering Degrees of the University. We also participate teaching different topics in Masters such as Chemistry in the Industry, Catalysis and Science and Technology of Materials.
